House Passes Ban on Permanent Iraq Bases
September 28th, 2006 . by ChrisCongress is on the verge of barring the construction of permanent bases for U.S. forces in Iraq, a move aimed at quelling concerns in the Arab world that American forces will remain in the war-torn country indefinitely. The ban, which was inserted into the annual defense spending bill, won House approval Tuesday night with a vote of 394-22 for it.
I’m glad the Congressmen voted to ban any permanent bases in Iraq. With our National Debt and Trade Deficits climbing, it’s possible that many are finally starting to see the economic damage that the “War” in Iraq is causing this nation.
