NY Times: Bush’s “Tyrannical Law” is “Low Point in American Democracy”
September 29th, 2006 . by ChrisGeneva Conventions sidestepped; basic habeas right to challenge imprisonment cancelled; coerced evidence allowed; torture allowed; secret evidence allowed; judicial review blocked; U.S. residents could be detained indefinitely with no hope of appeal. Nearly all Senate Republicans voted Yes.
Well, it is a sad day in American history, where the last shining light of freedom and liberty has been extinguished by politicians wishing to keep their incumbent status and those who disagree, comply, so they won’t look so soft on terror.
Every one of those who voted for this bill, should be removed from office this election. And if they’re not removed of their incumbency, then they should find the best rock to hide under.
