About 24 percent of Americans under the age of 30, or at least 10 million young voters, cast ballots in Tuesday’s elections. Young voters favored Democrats by a 22-point margin, dealing a potentially decisive blow to Republicans in tight races throughout the country. Clear evidence that the youth vote is extremely important & should not be ignored.

What really should not be ignored about the youth vote is how ignorant they are of the political system and the people who control it. Why is this never talked about in the media? I’m not saying that young voters are dumb or uneducated in other areas, but when it comes to choosing political candidates based on sound judgement, many are lacking.

Young voters today are barraged with sound bites, flashy images and false messages of hope and deliverance from tyrannical leaders. Well, it’s too bad they help put back in office, the next set of wannabe despots and tyrants.

I feel like George Washington in that famous painting kneeling down beside his horse, praying for strength to carry on. Hold on people, the turbulence on this ride is about to escalate.
