On September 30, 2006, the Congress modified the Insurrection Act as part of the 2007 Defense Authorization Bill. The new law changes the “Insurrection Act,” and widens the President’s ability to deploy troops to enforce the laws. The new law changed the name of the chapter from “Insurrection” to “Enforcement of the Laws to Restore Public Order.”

Sen. Feinstein blows whistle: Using obscure Patriot Act provision, US Dept. of Justice is forcing U.S. Attorneys around the country who are investigating corruption to resign their positions, not based on any allegation of misconduct. I don’t know about you, but Congress (House and Senate) did not even READ the Patriot Act when they passed it. So now she decides to complain? I say vote her out next election to the people in the state she “represents”.

The head of a government watchdog agency warned of looming disaster for America’s economy if an effort isn’t made to control spending.
