Iraq conflict – benchmarks unconstitutional???
May 4th, 2007 . by RobertLong time Senator Ted Stephens (R-AK) appears to have a different version of the Constitution than most. He recently called the benchmarks outlined in the Iraq funding bill unconstitutional. Since Senator Stephens is so fond of building bridges to no where, airports, and libraries that bear his name, perhaps he is attempting to write the Ted Stephens Memorial Constitution. While the Congress is willing to impose benchmarks on teachers, independent businesses, and individual citizens, it appears that they are somewhat unwilling to grade their performance when spending lives and tax dollars.
