PAYBACK: China destroys U.S. imports on safety grounds…
June 9th, 2007 . by adminBEIJING: Raisins and health supplements imported from the United States failed to meet Chinese safety standards and have been returned or destroyed, the country’s food safety agency said Friday.
The pet food and toothpaste scare should have really awakened people to the fact that it’s not terrorists that can harm our food supply. It’s countries that have extremely lax safety standards that we IMPORT our food from, such as China. The best way to ensure that your family is protected from such poor quality in food stuffs is to purchase food that is grown close to your home, particularly your own garden.
There are a lot of resources out there today that can help you get started growing your own food, whether vegetable or animal products, such as Mel Bartholomew’s Square Foot Gardening site and book. I have this book, personally, and it has a great amount of information in it that shows you can grow food for an entire family of four with very little space. It’s great for apartment dwellers and urbanites, as well as the elderly, who aren’t as mobile as they’d like, because his technique takes out 80% of the work required for normal gardening.
Also, if you live in a more rural setting, you might want to subscribe to Backwoods Home Magazine. You’ll find lots of things for homesteading, in regards to gardening, animal husbandry, recipes, spotlights on plants that have many uses and more. I subscribe to it and it’s been fantastic. I even find Dave Duffy’s, John Silveira’s and Claire Wolfe’s articles on liberty and freedom enlightening. So check it out.
But really folks, food security is up to you. The closer to home your food is produced, the more you know what’s in it AND what’s not. Besides, researchers have shown gardening to be a great reliever of stress and we all could use a lot less stress in our lives.
The better our food, the healthier we’ll be to fight the elitists who are determined to destroy our way of life in America.
Sincerely,
Chris Davis – America In Danger
