The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) raided the home of Sen. Ted Stevens (R-Alaska) on Monday, advancing the corruption probe that has ensnared the once-untouchable GOP dean.
Let’s not forget that Mr. Stevens was one of those who helped usher in the DR-CAFTA agreement in exchange for a bridge bearing his name financed with federal tax dollars. He is not the only one to have betrayed the people state and people he supposedly represents. North Carolina Congressman Robin Hayes (R-NC) also betrayed us when he switched his NO vote on DR-CAFTA to yes after it was already cast. The vote was switched in exchange for a tax dollar financed bio-tech research facility in his district. To further muddy the waters, Senator Richard Burr was also involved in this scam with his BARDA bill that provided the incentive to Mr. Hayes.
