Oscar Wyatt has been sentenced to one year and a day in prison for conspiracy in the UN oil-for-food programme scandal. He admitted he agreed to pay $200,000 (£97,000) into an Iraqi bank account.

Rocky Mount, NC received a clean bill of health regarding its finances. According to the report, Rocky Mount’s assets exceeded its liabilities at the close of the year by more than $238 million. This total includes both governmental and business-type activities.
But hold on. Isn’t the City in debt with Electricities for $427 Million dollars due to a ridiculous contract to buy power through a middleman and resell it to Rocky Mount citizens? See Rocky Mount’s outstanding debt to Electricities and other cities in North Carolina by clicking the link below.

We have to question if everything is being accounted for in the audit and digging through those reports will hopefully answer the question.
The City Council should respond and clarify to us, just to be on the safe side. We’ll be investigating this further for details and will keep you informed, so stay tuned.
