North Carolina Forced Annexation

May 31st, 2009 . by Robert

The North Carolina Senate is attempting to side-step the popular opposition to the practice of forced annexation. The anti-forced annexation opponents want only three simple things – 1. meaningful services, 2. oversight of the process of annexation, 3. a voice in the process. All three requests are well within reason and logic when it comes to government seizing anything from the people. Annexation seizes the income of those annexed as a source of revenue for the municipalities, often without an exchange of any meaningful services. By definition that is theft!

Help give the people a voice against government abuse. Call, write, or email the members of the newly created, heavily biased sub-committee. Tell them SB711 will not do as it does nothing for the citizens. Support Senator Larry Shaw’s SB494.

Please be courteous in all exchanges with elected officials and their staff.

Sub-committee members:

Chair: Sen. Dan Clodfelter – daniel.clodfelter@ncleg.net – 919-715-8331

Five Months Till Armageddon–A Dark View of the Future

May 23rd, 2009 . by admin

I believe that America is facing a perfect storm…A rapidly cooling climate, a committed socialist president taking over during an economic crisis, and an unfinished war with fanatical murderous thugs. I am only 49 years old, but I think my Father’s generation faced a similar storm starting in 1929. – Opinion Piece From Survivalblog.com

Bingaman & Grassley Fighting to Protect Taxpayers by Eliminating Subsidies on Private Highways

May 1st, 2009 . by admin

WASHINGTON – U.S. Senators Jeff Bingaman (D-NM) and Charles Grassley (R-IA) today introduced two bills to eliminate expensive federal subsidies that now flow to privatized highways.

Several state and local governments have already leased to private companies existing highways, including the Chicago Skyway and Indiana Toll Road, which were leased to private operators for 99 and 75 years, respectively.  When a state or city leases a highway, it receives significant compensation, but taxpayers almost always end up paying higher tolls to the private operator.
