Roanoke Rapids NC Tea Party

November 16th, 2009 . by Robert

On Saturday November 14, 2009, a small group of dedicated Americans turned out to brave the weather and listen to several speakers at the second of two Tea Parties held by the Roanoke Valley Patriots. The Roanoke Valley Patriots didn’t call on neo-conservative ex-bureaucrats or failed politicians to woo disillusioned Republicans back into the fold of a failed party; they called on dedicated Americans to speak from the heart, to motivate true patriots to act and think as individuals on a grass roots level, and to send a strong message to Washington. An enthusiastic crowd of around 100 gathered at Collier Harley Davidson in Roanoke Rapids North Carolina to send the message that we’re tired of government expansion and endless hikes in taxes.

Mr. Obama may call them names but history will count them as the dedicated few who chose to stand up and be counted. While the long established elite and the leftist liberals may be well entrenched in their propaganda and money collecting machine, the patriotic Tea Party movement has decentralization on their side. There are no national organizations orchestrating this movement, no charismatic politicians leading this movement, and no main target to be attacked, infiltrated, and coerced away from the mission. This is and needs to remain a movement of average, ordinary, and independent citizens with the common bond of liberty.

There were no Republicans in the crowd, no Democrats, no anarchists, or extremists, and no anti-government radicals. No, this was a crowd made up of Americans; proud of their nation, their heritage, and their liberty. This was a crowd of Americans who understand that it’s never the masses who accomplish change. Throughout history the masses have always been manipulated under tyranny. It has always been the dedicated few who made the difference. There may not have been national media coverage but the message goes out, being amplified by every small town rally until the roar can’t be ignored by Washington. That roar will be heard loud and clear in the upcoming elections. This is for the long haul. While some weak in spirit may fall by the wayside, the dedicated few will persevere. Our nation did not get into the shape it’s in overnight and it will not be changed overnight. We must brace for the long and tiring effort, and this is only the beginning.

Our gratitude goes out to Pat Croisetiere, Collier Harley Davidson, and the others who helped in organizing this rally and all those who spoke from the heart. And our special appreciation goes out to all those who stood the cold, damp winds to listen, to think, and to be part of history.
